Introduction to Wikimedia

Join Wikimedia and Open Research Adviser Lucy Hinnie alongside us in DCCH, to learn how you can build Wiki into your arts and humanities research. Wiki isn't just Wikipedia: from Wikidata to Wikimedia Commons, Wiki promotes open and reproducible research across disciplines, including the arts and humanities. This session will discuss some of the basics of Wikimedia, alongside practical exercises on how to get started, and resources specific to the University of Leeds. No prior experience of Wiki editing is necessary! Please bring a laptop or smartphone to enable your participation in these exercises. If you are able, we'd love for you to bring an example of a Wikipedia page that you've used and enjoyed in the past.
